ABC’s Dancing With the Stars led the network to a first place finish among viewers, but CBS’s comedies and CSI: Miami put the network in first place among adults 18-49.

Elsewhere on the evening, though the series returned with less than 2.5 million viewers (2.44 million),  Gossip Girl had a mostly successful return in its new timeslot.  The series was up by 7% among viewers and 18% among adults 18-49 from its last newly aired episode.

People Magazine is reporting that Britney Spears is returning to guest star in CBS’s sitcom How I Met Your Mother.  Spears’ original guest-starring role resulted in the show posted a series high in adults 18-49 (a 4.5/12 rating/share).

SCI FI Adds More Episodes of “Ghost Hunters” and “Destination Truth” April 22, 2008

SCI FI has announced that they’ve added additional episodes to two of its non-scripted series. The network has added 13 additional episodes to Ghost Hunters, now in its fourth season and seven more episodes to Destination Truth. [THR]

“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” Renewed for a Second Season April 22, 2008

Fox has officially confirmed that they’ve renewed Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for a second season.  The network has picked up 13 episodes of the series, Variety reports.  The trade magazine confirmed early reports that the show was never really in danger, noting that Fox and Warner Bros. (who produces the series) had already started staffing for a second season of the series.

New Photos for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” April 22, 2008

Empire Online has posted three new photos from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which opens in theaters on August 15th.  The movie will be followed by the TV series on Cartoon Network and TNT in the fall.  Continue through the jump to check out the images.

Viacom, Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate Announce New Premium Pay Network April 22, 2008

Viacom, Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate have announced a joint venture to launch a new premium pay cable network.  The plan is to launch the currently untitled channel in the fall of 2009, and one of the movies named as an exclusive is May 09’s Star Trek.  Continue past the jump to read the official press release.

“Crank 2: High Voltage” Casting Annouced April 22, 2008

Moon Bloodgood Cast in “Terminator 4″ April 22, 2008

Moon Bloodgood is in final negotiations for the female lead in McG’s upcoming film “Terminator 4″.  According to THR, Bloodgood will play a “no-nonsense and battle-hardened member of the resistance who is carrying a lot of guilt over surviving the nuclear holocaust.” Bloodgood was recently seen in NBC’s short-lived television series Journeyman.

You may have heard a rumor reported a few days ago that indicated ‘Indy 4′ would be 2 hours and 20 minutes, but that report appears to have been wrong.  Producer Frank Marshall has confirmed that film will be about 2 hours.  In other Indy news, several new photos have hit the web, and we’ve got an early very positive review of the film.
