CBS takes a close evening against NBC among households, but NBC comes on top among total viewers and adults 18-49.

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 8.1/13 household rating, but was second among total viewers with 12.21 million and third among adults 18-49 with a 3.1/10 rating.

  • Last Week:
    • 8.8/14 HH rating [#1]
    • 13.87M viewers [#1]
    • 4.7/12 A18-49 rating [#2]
  • 8:00 PM and 8:30 p.m.: A repeat of How I Met Your Mother (5.7/9 HH rating, 8.79M viewers, 3.2/9 A18-49 rating) was followed by the season finale of The Class (5.8/9 HH rating, 8.77M viewers, 3.2/8 A18-49 rating), both turning solid performances, especially in regards to ‘Mother’, which performed strongly given its repeat nature. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what CBS decides to do with The Class.  It hasn’t been able to find a large audience, but it seems compatible with ‘Mother’ and does okay in the key Adult 18-49 demo.  One negative though was the decrease from the week prior in regards to overall ratings.  With this being the season finale, a slightly bump should have been expected.
    • Week-to-week numbers (The Class)
      • Households – 5.7/9 to 5.8/9
      • Viewers – 8.90M to 8.77M

  • 9:00 PM and 9:30 p.m.: Two and a Half Men (9.6/14 HH rating, 14.57M viewers, 4.5/11 A18-49 rating) was followed by Rules of Engagement (8.3/13 HH rating, 12.59M viewers, 4.3/10 A18-49 rating) were both down week-to-week. Even still, both provided solid ratings, and retention out of Two and a Half Men for Rules of Engagement was particularly strong in regards to Adults 18-49 (96%).  With retention like that, the show is safe.
    • Week-to-week numbers (Two and a Half Men)
