Actor Tobin Bell confirmed at ShoWest last week that he will be reprising his role in the next two installments of the Saw franchise.
Spoilers follow below.
The actor told ComingSoon.net that is is unsure how his character will be used in the future installments (Jigsaw was assumed to have died in the last installment):
“It’s difficult for me to comment on something I haven’t read so I don’t know what they’re going to do or how they’re going to do it. Hollywood’s amazing; they come up with all kinds of ways to accomplish things. If I knew I’d tell you, but I don’t. In some ways, it’s a blessing.”
Though co-Producer Oren Koules said Bell has been slipped a couple of hints:
“Tobin knows some clues and what to tell the fans is that there are three or four scenes in ‘Saw III’ that seem very innocuous and benign but when you see ‘Saw IV’ and they flash back to those, they have a whole different meaning. We shot scenes for ‘Saw III’, knowing they’d be in ‘IV.’ We knew what we wanted to do for ‘IV’ so we actually shot scenes for ‘III’ but tried to make them very innocent scenes that didn’t really make sense, but when it comes back, it’s a huge part about ‘Saw IV.'”
Saw IV begins filming in April for a Halloween release date of October 26th.

Saw 3 ended with the doctor dying b/c her explosive collar was tied with Jigsaws heart monitor. If Jigsaw didnt really die then y did she die?
maybe jigsaw is a crazy unhuman master mind. then he made a doll of himself because he is the son of mary shaw from dead silence then made a huge setup and made a peep hole and watched amanda and jeff play there games. but then he wasnt finished so jeff had to play another game. so basicly saw 4 is going to be about games!

Yeah they kinda killed the possibility of a sequel after saw 4 when they killed off Jigsaw. Or so it seems…

That may be true that they killed Jiggy (Jigsaw) in III, but lets say that Amanda(Which is ironic cause thats my name) had her own apprentice, like Jiggy had Amanda as his. Therefore creating a IV to finish that guys search for his daughter, and a V to officaly kill off the main obbjective. No matter what. Jiggy with live on.
saw three was good but i hated when jeff killed jigsaw that was mess up cuz i knew right then if jigsaw died there be no more jigsaw hell i thought that amanda was gonna take jigsaws place when he died but she died to which left me clueless but i think they should have made where jigsaw has a son played by brad douriff and he should take jigsaws place
if you paid attention to saw 3, amanda was jigsaw all along, and the dying man, was really her first victim. pay attention people. if you don’t believe me, watch the part where he was bald, and talking to amanda. he was her first victim. then he decided to help her, not knowing she was a murderer. this whole time, we thought he was jigsaw. on the contrary. who is the real jigsaw, we may never know. but one thing is for certain, amanda was the original killer, not the dying man. as i said before, watch it again. pay attention. if you get what i am talking about, then feel free to message me back.

Hey, i’ve seen Saw 3 and i loved it. But i saw it long ago, when it came out on DVD, and i forgot most of it except when Jeff tried to escape. I can see how they will make a Saw 4. The test are already planned out, though i’m comfused about a Saw 5. I know about the 4th, Jeff will try to free himself and his daughter but with Jigsaw dead i can’t see any possible ways he can return for a 5th. What charachter in a horror movie have you seen survive by being slit in the throat?
Yeah, like you I can understand how they’ll incorporate him into Saw IV, but Saw V is going to be a bit harder to make sense out of.
I too thought he was dead in Saw III, but that he pre-planned the whole Jeff and his daughter scenario. I guess we’ll know for sure what happens when part 4 hits.
It could end up being just flashbacks, perhaps to Jigsaw’s past (a prequel?).

the black cop from the first one got his throat slit and lived. if a movie company can fake tobin bell dying, then why cant jigsaw fake himself dying?
its very possible jigsaw is still alive. people are saying flashback this and flashback that. but you cant make 3 more movies of the same guy in just flashbacks. hes contracted to 6 saw movies, so hes not done just yet.
Tobin Bell is only contrated up to saw 5 not 6.

What will happen in Saw 5? Saw IV is a no brainer if you saw the 3rd but saw 5 is confusing? Its the only trilogy i know of that hasen’t screwed up beside Pirates. Because Saw 3 gets me everytime! The first was great, the second you hated what went on but you definatley loved it. And the third was just fantastic. Leaving you thinking what will happen to Jeff and his little angel. For a year! Loved that. I want these films to go infinity and beyond. It’s impossible for them to screw it up if they get more and more intelligent. And Scream was right! The third film does open new clues and anything is possible. Exampe: Amanda and the fact Amanda and Jigsaw died was against the rules.
The only thing Jigsaw could’ve survived is if he had surgery on his neck which protected him. Doubt it.
Hey I remember reading something where someone mentioned a useless key that the female doctor used in #3. In the deleted scene she tries to use it on a different door which is also ineffective. She drops it when she fights wth amanda…. so my guess it is one of those “useless” scenes that will be used in 4 or 5, probly 4 tho.

Also these are supposed to be the most gruesome, a rumor was one of the producers puked while filming some of the first minutes of saw 4. Some of the traps are supposed to bend the mind, these next three movies we’ll be ‘real thinkers’

Jigsaw is definately dead and he will not be appearing in flashbacks, that has been confirmed by the director in an interview not too sure how they will pull it off but I think Dr Gordon is the only other person apart from Amanda who completed their test with the exception of Eric Mathews and Jigsaw made a reference to fixing Amanda’s mistake. I also have a theory that the tape Jigsaw covered in wax in III will be the first tape discovered and will be found during his autopsy in his skull.

and no, 7 saws wont happen. theyre stopping at 6, no matter HOW successful. david hackl, production designer for saws 2-4, will be the director of 5 and 6. the same writers for 4 will write the next two as well. no efforts have gone into hiring for more sequels than two because theyre not gonna make one.
and theyve also denied that jill (jigsaws wife) will be the new jigsaw. and he does NOT have a twin. so, whos building the traps? well. thats your reason to go see iv.

We havent seen saw 4 but we looked at the picture from saw 4 and the person in the chair is hooked up to a wench hooked to every limb on the body therefore pulling the limbs off the body leaving 4 limbs! also look at the pictures on the wall that is jigsaws ex-wife look at the clock thats probaly the time of movie and amount of time this person had to live!if u look below the clock there is a switch perhaps whoever is in the chair clicks on one of the two buttons not knowing if it releases the wench or starts it!One more thing there is a tripod next to the chair with a camera on it perhaps this will show the person in the chair being ripped into 4’s!!!!!!!SEE WHAT I SEE??????????????????????????????????????????????????????p.s.oFFSPRING COULD BE A POSSIBLE AND LOOK AT FOR THE QUIET ONES!!!!!!
i think that for the movie some things that people say are true but what i think is think of all the loose people 4 the movie that werent gone that far in detail like daniel the boy hes possible a hook to the movie or maybe one ofthe cops is dirty and was jigsaws apprentice along with amanda or jeff what if hes appointed in a video by jigsaw to do his continuation of his work like zepp in the first one but for jeff his daughter is on the line but nobody is particularly right there all god explanations 4 the film but to find out the truth watch itwhen it comes out but get your tickets early & and get to the theaters 20 mins b4 the scheduled time for the movie i usually watch all new movies online but for this movie im seing it at the movies

well we know that the tape covered in wax is going to be found in jigsaws stomach… hence the autopsy of jigsaw (found in a trailer) so that will take out the idea that he is still alive. for the dr. gordon idea. that is not half bad… if you do watch i think the 2nd one with the key. the dr is limping…. it could be that when jigsaw says that he had taken care of amanda’s mistake it could be that he put the dr through another test. now there were more trailers that have come out and they make you think that he is now going after the world.. but who knows his plan is probably put some one in a game that requires them to put another person through a game… just like the first one with the mental pacient… so we will have to see how the game unfolds… maby jigsaw was in a game from the “mastermind” behind all of it… who knows…. When you fully understand it!! Saw 3 and 4 happened at the same time! It culminated in the last scene where rigg and the other officer are looking for matthews and also the scenes from 3 where that dude is looking for his daughter (who still hasnt been found).
The autopsy scene shown at the start is actually the end, and probably the start of saw 5, which will show hoffmans back story i guess
Saw this on Friday. It was really good, much better than the third one I thought.
I still don’t fully understand just exactly what happened there at the end of the film. I’ll have to see it again.
I just got back from seeing Saw IV…loved it!!! It left it open for yet another one. It’s quite interesting though and really gets into how it all got started. It was wicked how Matthews dies though…that was a rough one for me to watch because he was my favorite character throughout the series so far. I’m already excited about 5!
I just saw saw 4 with my son…we were arguing the whole way home, he said the lawyer was the killer..but I said it was the detective that was sitting in the cahair that was going to be electricuted if mathews went off the block of ice…its was very confusing to me although I saw all 3 saws…
Saw four doesn’t make sense. The order of events is effed up and doesn’t clearly explain the plot or why anyone is carrying on Jig Saw’s activities. Every movie needs some sort of conclusion, even if they are making another one. Good movie (gore wise), terrible plot!!!
Anybody notice that they never said anything about Amanda through the whole movie? Is it possible that she’s still alive? In 3, you saw her holding that bottle of liquid (the stuff that makes your heart almost stop beating – they showed Jigsaw talking with her about it) and although they found Jigsaw’s body…autopsy and all, they never mention finding Amanda’s. Then the investigator says “Amanda coulnd’t have done this alone…” like they still aren’t saying she’s dead or anything. And the guy gives her the letter that makes her cry. Wonder if that was telling her anything about Jigsaw having to die….she really did love him. She got very jealous over his telling the doctor that he loved her – even though we all know that was just coincidental conversation. Guess we’ll just have to wait for 5 now…..
Saw 4 is extemely confusing. amanda is definately dead, she put up the womans body with the dective in the electric chair.
i dont understand why they carried on jigsaws wurk or how the detectives got involvd in following it on in the first place.

saw 3 and 4 were a dissapointment for me. They should never have killed jigsaw at the end of 3 that was a big anti-climax for me.
I watched saw 4 tonight and as much as it pains me i was a lil disapointed, i adore the saw films but this one just did not have that edge, the traps were not really as clever as the ones from previous films, i liked how the saw 3 and 4 were both at the same time but we have seen that before with saw 2 and the tape that was playin the people in house all along, just did not have anythin different for me.
Alot of questions which i hoped to be answered in saw 4 was not at all! now there gona waste more time explainin how hoffman got involved with jigsaw, jeff was in it for 2 seconds then got shot, what happened to his lil girl and for the love of god WHAT HAPPENED TO DOCTOR GORDAN! lol one thing i know bout saw is they never leave questions unanswered but its been to long, need to know what happened to him!
All in all it was an ok film but just did not have that “saw” jaw droppin bombshell quality to it, lets hope they make it up in the next film!
I found saw4 to be a bit of a let down, I just dont think it did anything to further the story. Just a few pointers from what I can pick up:
1. There is no confirmation in SAW4 that Amanda is dead, remember anytime she is being talked about it is before she has been shot.
2.The FBI agent being locked in the room with Jigsaw, Amanda etc. I think it is safe to assume that Hoffman left him there to die then probably found away to make it look like they found Jigsaws lair.
3. In Saw2 the guy limping could be Jigsaw(and unlikely to be Dr.Gordon for a number of reasons mainly money Carey Elwes is in dispute over unpaid fees) remember Det. Singh shoots Jigsaw in the leg in SAW1.
4. I think Hoffman has been in on it form the start and prob thought that he an d Jigsaw were partners or equals but if you listen to the tape at the end it looks like Jigsaw is now gonna test him, because he says ‘did you really think you would escape untouched’ or something to that effect.
So my main question is What exactly was in that envelope addressed to Amanda?

Oh one more point I thought off. Do you think Amanda knew about Rigg’s game I was re-watching SAW3 and there was two pionts that struck me.
1. Not long after Jeff faces his first task, Amanda goes to Jigsaw and says “he finished the task, he tried to save her’ to which Jigsaw replies ‘faster than we atticipated’ could this be a reference to Rigg instead of Jeff as we are lead to believe.
2. When Jigsaw is trying to talk Amanda out of killing Lynn he says ‘What about our other test subjects?’ agin is this a reference to Rigg and the game he is playing?

ok ive seen saw 4 and this is what i think
ok we all know that there cant be two body’s during the movie because as you seen in the 3rd movie he swallowed the tape when he was in the doctor chair. So i think the beginning when it showed the autopsy scene is actually the ending of 5th movie coming up beacuse they obviously had to get the jigsaws body out of that room with jeff, jeffs wife and Amanda and the other detective that was left in the room of the 4th movie. Now as you seen in the 4th movie it happens at the same time as the 3rd movie, so jigsaw was still alive in the 4th movie in till jeff killed him. we dont know much about detective hoffman only that his partners with jigsaw and as you seen in the beginning he is gonna be tested too. It doesn’t say much about Amanda only about the letter that detective hoffman wrote to her so we still have to see what saw 5 would give as about her and about jeff daughter if she still alive.
Knuckles, Jeff got killed.
His daughter was obviously not saved.
It infact became quite irrelevant to the whole story.
I don’t know how they’re going to continue this mega-kick-ass movie plot they have, but the guys at Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate are living up to expectations, and I simply CANNOT WAIT for Saw 5. :D
It’s become an “event”, in my family. Australia doesn’t celebrate halloween.. but my family in particular usually make a gathering at a cinema to see the newest piece of the Saw movies :D

what the hell, what about jeff and his daughter? also, how can Jeff still have been in the room (where the surgeon woman died) all this time without leaving (at the end of saw 3) while all the fuss was going on outside the room he was in (with the guy strapped to the chair and eric matthews hanging on a block of ice) it makes no sense! How can Jeff still be in the room? This took place like 2 hours after Saw 3, I think he’d still be mourning over his wifes death. He got shot, meaning his girl is going to die aswell. Amanda is dead (god shut up about her), all the “fuss” outside the room was yet another test taking place, it takes a while to explain fully and you need to watch it more to get the actual jist of it. I personally think it was very well done and probably the best out of the lot mainly because it confuses people easily and get’s you thinking.
Also Shane, that’s what I’m thinking, the autopsy does look about 2 weeks after Saw 3/4 takes place. Can’t wait to see the finale to these movies.

I think theres wayyyyy more to this then what ur all saying. first of all saw4 shows jiggys ex. she looks like shes got tonssss to hide. second there are traps ive seen in posters and previews that i never saw in saw 1234 soo theres more we can expect. Jeffs daughter is obviosuly dead, or its gonna be hoffmans game to save her. Dr g is dead theres no bringing him back.

I didn’t read all messages but this is my theory.
Jeff’s “game” was being played at the same time as that detective’s. (The one that was going from building to building). It ain’t possible to see Jigaw’s body twice so when they did the post mortom it was after both the “games” so really, Jigaw’s post mortom is the start of Saw 5, but was played at the beginning of 4 to confuse viewers.

Also, I wanna know what happened to Doctor Lawrence Gordon! The man that was in the room with him during this Saw is so hot! lol.
I really liked saw 4. I love the saw series but yeah what did happen to Doctor Lawrence Gordon???? That was the guy from the first movie that cut his foot off right???? yeah…duh. well they will probably mention him in the 5th movie. Did anyone notice that the prostitute that approached John (Jigsaw) in Saw 4 while he was waiting on his wife to get off work was actually inside the Nerve Gas House in Saw 2…she was the one that got her arms caught in the glass box near the end trying to get the antidote. Its awesome how they incorporate characters in the series quietly. That also goes to show you that the question regarding Dr. Gordon will be answered before the end of the franchise. Also I seriously doubt they will make a big deal about Jeff’s little girl still being missing…and Amanda is more than likely dead. However, this is Hollywood so anything goes.

Gorgeous lead leg DR. Gorgdon is not in the hallway at any stage, it says so onthe saw 3 commentary. What happened to him is still unexplained. But after seeing Det. Matthews being held captive then why could Dr. Gordon not be aswell. tho as I said it is unlikely due to money issues.
Also in relation to to Jeff’s daughter, did you all notice the seen where Det. Hoffman was holding the teddy,just after someone told him that another person had went missing from the hospital(which I presume was the Dr from saw 3) its the same teddy that Jeff’s daughter is holding at the end of saw 3. So he knows were she is.
Good catch on that Ntusconni. Here are a few comments and observations I have…
-Amanda could still be alive since they do not mention her or show her body.
-Everyone seems to be forgetting about Attorney Art Blank’s role in this. Someone said he was the guy in the room with the sewn mouth, but if he was, I did not pick up on that. I thought it was someone else. How did he get placed in the game anyway? And if he was the guy with the sewn mouth, then why was he placed in the game twice? And what did happen to the atty at the end? I forget already if they showed that or not.
– If the Detective (Strahm) in the electric chair was in the game at the same time as Jeff, and his wife with Jigsaw and Amanda in that other room, then why would he close their door and lock them in after saying Game Over and walk out of the room he was in with Riggs? Because this would have had to have happened BEFORE the autopsy at which time he got the tape from Jigsaw’s stomach. Unless of course he was involved all along. And if he was involved all along, then did the attorney Blank know the detective was involved? Is this why he didn’t just stop the game?
So now I am curious to re-listen to what exactly that tape in Jigsaw’s belly said again.
– As for Jeff’s daughter, I had forgotten about her – must have been insignificant to me. But I understand we will definitely be learning more about what happens to her in Saw 5. My guess is that Jigsaw kept her to replace the baby he lost with his ex wife.

I just finished watching the Saw 4 movie. Well I would say “Saw” movies are the best, I like them because they confuse me the whole time and I’m stuck trying to unravel, Saw’s mysterious games,the purpose for them, and yet I want to know who’s the next Saw. While watching Saw movies me and my smart brother fight the whole time through the movie trying to figure out what’s going on and who’s right and who’s wrong! It’s pretty fun. Well lets get to the point here. Me and my brother alaways get to understand Saw movies when we finish watching them, but the Saw 4 movie was a tough one. I wouldn’t blame you for not having the mental capability to understand it. So lets get started.
First of all the Saw 4 movie starts with its ending!
Second of all the Saw 4 movie is composed of getting someone in his game. One of his mysterious puzzles that confuse us and the person the game was made for. In this movie the game was for the African American detective who can’t stand seeing people die and always wants to keep them alive.
It is also composed of the answer to a question we must all have, “Why did Saw become a Phsyco Path(murder)?” Well the movie shows us that Saw got his ex wife pregnant. Then a man who wanted to steal from the hospital hits Saws ex wife
(a doctor)who was closing the hospital. That makes her loose her baby. So saw its angry and decides to break up with his wife. She brings in a lawyer to Saw’s future torture place to get a divorsed. Saw asks the lawyer to leave, but the lawyer still accomplishes his work. we never hear from him in the whole movie, but really the layer has been stuck in there since then and saw ties him into a chain with another guy.
(The two men we see fighting in the begining of the movie.) the lawyer gets to save himself because he got to stop the machine when he killed the other guy and his body gets trapped in the mashine. He finds the key and escapes. He finds the place were all the cameras are being monitored and realizes that the two detectives
( the one in the chair and the one hanging on top of the ice) could all get saved when the timer stops and the layer presses the button to release them. besides this Saw also is detected Cancer and on his way home after visiting the hospital he crashes and a pole gets in his body, the one he is able to pull out as we saw in the 2nd Saw movie. So that is why Saw becomes a phsyco path killer. He starts by avenging with the man who made his ex wife loose the baby by preparing him a game where he has to push his face into knives and press a lever in front of him with his bleeding face for the chair where he is on can be destroyed and he can escape. the guy escapes but wants to kill saw so saw traps him in a cage with barbed wire and he dies of internal bleeding. Then Saw prepares the game for the layer who also divorsed him and his wife by tiying the chain on his neck and on the other victim, the game we were talking about before. In other words thats how Saw starts his games, with all the people who caused his life misery!!!!!!!!!!!!
but this movie is also composed of the African American detective who is being tested. He always trys to convince every person in life to make the right choice by stopping them from making the wrong choices, but he doesn’t realize that is what’s stopping him from making the right choices to save himself, for example his wife tells him to leave with her, but he rathers continue his work, the detectives tell him to don’t go in Saw’s building, but he doesn’t listen. So here is where Saw prepares him a game.
but wait a minute Saw and Amanda are dead so who really prepared the games???? well… at the beginning of the movie the two detectives who are talking see the dead detective’s body on the ripcage hanging. They figure out she weights a couple of pounds and they ask to themselves, “Saw was too weak to carry her body in this trap and his helper Amanda was to weak also so they now predict there is another person helping Saw, which there is. That is a detective that has been covering himself the whole time with his title(detective) he hasn’t been unmasked not even in the end of the movie. You can see him walk away, then he locks at the African American detective and just shuts off the lights. He also locks the other detective inside Saws room, (the detective which argued with him at the beginning of the movie.)So there is going to be a Saw 5 movie!!!!!!!!!! you may be wondering how he was able to sit on the chair and act like a victim. He was just trying to hide himself. He knew he wasn’t going to die, cuz well he’s Saws helper so at the end he is able to get up the chair and continue Saws work. That’s why at the beginning of the movie you can see him hearing Saws tape which is saying that Saws work is going to continue and, well he is going to continue it, since he is a helper and damn is hard to discover him since he’s a detective. I think that in the Saw 5 movie saw left a game prepared for him because in the tape he also says he isn’t going to only walk away without playing his game!

I can tell you how the African American could have gotten saved.
First of all he gets into Saw’s game thanks to the detective helper we were talking about who gets him and throws him in the tub filled with water. That’s how the game starts. He walks in the room and sees a lady who has stolen a lot of things, (a rober). She is sitting on a chair. Her hair is being pulled by a device which will break her head in and she will die! The African American detective then finds a tape that tells him that he doesn’t have to save all the people he will face in the tests, but since he is hard headed and he wants to save everyone, that takes time away from him. So he saves her and then she trys to kill him since she doesn’t want to go to jail but the detective has no choice than to kill her. The detective also trys to save a rapist who is paying his price by being involved in a game where he is tied in a bed and he has to die seeing what an animal he was, how he killed women and raped them. The detective trys to save him but he can’t and that takes him more time away from saving himself. At the end he doesn’t save him either. Finally he finds the three men who are waiting for the timer to stop to get saved, but since he thinks the layer who is pointing a gun at him is the one responsible for preparing the traps to the two detectives
(the one on the chair and the one hanging on top of ice) he fights him, but the African American detective never realizes that the game was for him until he shoots the lawyer who could have saved everyone. He hears the tape and it says that if he would have only let people saved themselves he would have made the right choices, but since he always tried being the hero by saving people he never let them make their own choices and he never saved himself, because you see, the men could have escaped but since he shot the lawyer thinking he was gonna save the two other detectives he wasn’t able to save himself nor the detectives. If only he would have let the 3 men save themselves not supposing the lawyer was a bad guy they would have all survived. That’s why in the first tape he says, “they can save themselves” he didn’t mean the people trapped, he ment the two detectives and the lawyer! they could have saved themselves by pressing the button!!!!!!!!! so they all die exept Saws helper. Do you get it now?????? It can’t be more clearer than that!!!!!!!!!

I have a prediction for saw 5. When Jigsaw told his wife to leave his workshop and never come back she was just about to look under the sheet. After she leaves, Jigsaw takes off the sheet and there is a case with broken glass inside. I’m thinking that this was Detective Hoffman’s game, which happened even before Amanda’s. Or maybe not. Just an idea.

Mark was first featured in Saw and Saw: Rebirth as one of Jigsaw’s first targets. John saw him at the hospital, where Mark claimed to be sick or have injuries of some sort as an excuse to skip work, when in fact he was perfectly healthy. This was enough for John to make him one of his first subjects as Jigsaw.
Mark was stripped of his clothes in a dark room, and had a slow acting poison in his bloodstream. From the message Jigsaw left for him, Mark learned that the antidote was inside a safe in front of him and the combination was written on the wall. However, the wall was filled with hundreds of numbers, and he had to choose the right set. The floor was covered in glass, and Mark’s body was smeared with a flammable substance. The only source of light in the room was a wax candle. Slowly, Mark began to try each combination. However, he fumbled with the candle and ignited the substance covering him, burning him alive. His charred corpse was found by the police some time later.

roxanne, cop’s son was in the safe box in the same room with all cops all along while cop (mathews) was trying to figure out the location on the monitors with his son, which he thought were live feeds, but were actually prerecorded. since he didn’t have enough patience to just sit and talk to jigsaw, but rather forced jigsaw to take him to the location (since he thought the video was live), he never got to see the safe box door opening with his son in it, but rather got trapped as jigsaw’s next victim.
jigsaw is still alive. i think he never died in da first place. it was all a game. jigsaw is the greatest mastermind there is & no matter what, someone is gonna die. so mark ur calender & count da days, cause the games have just begun.

Well I dont think anyone of you have cleared this movie up at all. If you will all be honest with yourselves you dont know what happened either. How could the detective lock the FBI agent in the room with jigsaw and leave det. riggs in the other room and walk away and then jigsaw be in the morgue without someone finding them. This movie went a little too far. I really like the others but this one was way too confusing. If anyone really knows what happend please let us know.
yea alex…your ending isnt right….the end of the movie is the autopsy…not the detective walking out, so explain what happens to riggs and the fbi guy when they found jigsaws body?
Maybe in saw 4 detective Hoffman was not actually in on it but was being tested throughout because when he listens to the tape you see the look on his face that maybe he was forced to carryout Riggs test .
i don’t get saw 4 and i have watched all of them.
I am mad cause i have bought every one of the saw movies at $20 a piece. Add it up and that is $80, the first one was the best, the second fell off a little and the third was a little better than the second but was still a disappointment. Now i buy the forth one and it is totally wack, i have no idea what is going on. I will not buy the fifth, i will just look for it at a local yard sale and MAYBE buy it.
Didn’t anybody notice how bad they screwed up on saw4? when they found kerry they were talking about jigsaw being dead, but he isn’t dead yet. he doesn’t die until later on in the movie.
They cant kill jigsaw. I hope he is alive some how and well and up to his tricks. I hope they dont continue with another diciple…If jigsaw is really dead i think they will ruin a great thing..he is the whole movie..So i look forward to this fall…Let the games begin…

After watching 4 and the scenes when the ex-wife is being questioned by the FBI, does anyone else think that there is a BIG SHINY KEY hanging from her necklace. In all the scenes when she is wearing a blue shirt… in most scenes u can see it when the camera is facing directly at her, on side profiles they tuck it away into her shirt, and in one scene she is even playing with it (Not to mention this necklace is not on her neck in the flashbacks) just curious if anyone agrees but I see a Key with a heart shaped top on it that Jig probably gave her in the past being a secret in number 5 or later.
im actually happy with the way they did saw 4 it was very good the plot was well thoughtout and the absence of jigsaw was nearly un-noticed…i do see how they are goin to make number 5 and it should be very well…for those who thought outerwise yes jigsaw is dead…verymuch so…but he has had test for ppl thoughtout way WAY in advance…and for those who thought amanda was the original jigsaw…i am much obliged to say U R WRONG…very wrong…saw 5 should be good cant wait to see it!!!

Ok. Can nobody grasp this, the autopsy scene at the start of Saw 4 is the same scene as at the end. What we see inbetween is Det. Hoffman basically having a flash back to show wot happened.
This is my opinion on what has happened Hoffman leaves Rigg to die, though I my opinion i think Hoffman wanted Rigg to pass his test, when the find Kerry, Hoffman tells Rigg he knows not to go into an unsecured room, advice which would have saved both Rigg and matthews had he followed it.
Hoffman has to lock Strahm in the room, so he can escape, my guess is that Strahm will try to rescue Jeff’s daughter. Hoffman will probably go get help and bring it to the meat plant and act like he worked it out the same way Strahm did.
Saw 5 according to reports will be about Jeff’s daughter and Hoffman being tested.
And do not forget the Doctor is back
I’ve read that Jigsaw is in the 5th and 6th and if all goes well they’re gonna film a 7th. In the 5th one we find out what happened to Jeff and his daughter.
Amanda will not return, she is officially dead. And they may use that bathroom for another task.

Unfortunatley im pretty sure jigsaw is gone im mean come on those doctors opened him up, cut out his brain how could he not be dead at least there is someone to carry on jigsaws inventions and keep an eye out for one of the doctors from the scene from saw 4 when he getting cut open. one of them is gonna be a major part in the movie
the series will carry on but nothing after 6 since riggs failed the final test in sw 4 it has to carry on and the games will begin wit the bent cop hoffman who setup the taps in saw3 my idea for theplot in saw 5 will be that the bent copper det hoffman will carry on with the series and jlll tuck is involved in some way or another i noticed the key around her kneck as welll in 4 that is where saw 5 will start i think.
but daniel eric matthews son and also jeffs daughter also have to e mentioned somewhere along the line if you watch closely in 4 you will her at the end he say it has just begun he trapped the cop trying to stop riggs from killing matthews but he got stuck in the room with jeff lynn john amanda so something will happen from there as well.

if you listen to the commentary on saw 4 they tell you that the beginning of saw 4 is actually the ending. what also do not undrstand is how that can be so if det. hoffman left the other det. alive in the room with dead jigsaw, dead amanda, dead doctor, and her dead husband without killing that detective so there must be some pieces of the ending of saw for that we wikll not be enlightened about until saw 5 comes out

The key thing that most people are confused about is the following: SAW III and SAW IV occured at the SAME TIME. As Jeff was being tested, so was Rigg. This was hinted several times through the film. Here are examples: an officer claims another doctor was kidnapped (this was Doctor Lynn from Saw III), Jigsaw states in a flashback to Cecil “Time is an Allusion”, When asked why Hoffman was married due to him carrying a stuffed animal he said it was a long story: it was the same stuffed animal Jeff’s daughter was holding in Saw III, the clock in Jigsaw’s work shop and his watch he threw away in the hospital hinted that Time was an allusion. The whole film was told out of sequence. At the beginning of the film we see an Autopsy of Jigsaw where they find a tape. This occured AFTER the events of Saw IV, so we saw the end of the film right at the beginning! On the tape he tells Hoffman that just because he is the last man standing doesn’t mean he won’t be tested. He claims that it isn’t over just because he is dead and that the Game’s have just begun — the games he is referring to is those set up for SAW V since this occured after SAW IV. Hoffman is also revealed as the new apprentice, and his motives are unknown and will be further explored in SAW V. The FBI officers Perez and Strahm (the new charecters) were correct in the sense that someone was helping Amanda and Jigsaw, that there was a new apprentice, which was Hoffman. He wrote the letter to Amanda that she read in Saw III. The contents of the letter are still unknown. He also told Rigg to go home since he had vacation time he never used. Why did he tell him to go home? Because he was the one who abducted him and placed him in the game. When it comes to Rigg’s test it was simple: he had to do NOTHING in order to save Detective Eric Mathews. Saving those who were out of his reach was effecting relationships with those around him, it became an obsession. This is why Jigsaw said “See what I See”, “Feel How I Feel” — in order to make him understand. Jigsaw’s perspective is that these people need to learn to save themselves. This was hinted several times through the film. Rigg’s wife/girlfriend told him he can’t save everybody. Also in a flashback with Jigsaw in his ex in the hospital, right after the baby in her stomach died and they were holding hands his ex said “I was just trying to help him” referring to Cecil (the one who robbed the hospital and killed the baby). Jigsaw, or John Kramer at the time states “You can’t help them, they have to learn to help themselves.” Also hinted was in the beginning when Rigg bust through doors that were not investigated properly for traps in order to see if Kerry was alive. Hoffman replied angrily “You never go through a door like that.” — which is exactly what he did in the room with Eric which lead to the death of Eric as well. He ran through the door not knowing what he was doing or what was behind it. With 2 seconds remaining on the clock, Eric was killed due to the fact time was still remaining. If no time had remained Eric would have been spared. The reason people disliked the film was due to a lack of understanding. Basically the twists were: Rigg had to do nothing to save Eric Mathews, Hoffman is the other apprentice and even with helping Jigsaw he will still be tested, and that Saw III and SAW IV were occuring at the same time since the Autopsy seen occured AFTER the events in SAW IV and SAW III, but was shown in the beginning. They wanted to show us that not everything in the SAW universe is told in a linear fashion, like SAW II did. We still haven’t learned our lesson!
