Broadcast TV Ratings for Tuesday, June 26, 2007

Disrupting the trend of CBS’s now common weekly wins.  Despite being down a significant amount from the week prior, NBC still got a solid performance from America’s Got Talent (the nights most watched program).

NBC finished in first place for the evening with a 6.7/12 household rating, 10.48 million viewers and a 3.4/10 rating among adults 18-49.

  • 7.4/13 HH rating [#1]
  • 11.41M viewers [#1]
  • 3.9/12 A18-49 rating [#1]

• 8:00-10:00 p.m.: Another two-hour edition of America’s Got Talent (7.2/12 HH rating, 11.39M viewers, 3.7/12 A18-49 rating) fell off a noticeable 1.12 million viewers (10%), 9% among households and 16% among adults 18-49. Despite these declines though, the show was still far and away the evenings top-rated and most watched.
  • Week-to-week numbers (9:00-11:00 p.m.):
    • Households – 8.0/14 to 7.2/12
    • Viewers – 12.51M to 11.39M
    • Adults 18-49 – 4.4/14 to 3.7/12
• 10:00 p.m.: A repeat of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (6.0/10 HH rating, 8.67M viewers, 2.8/8 A18-49 rating) benefited once again from its strong lead-in, staying relatively consistent from the week prior.

CBS followed in second place for the evening with a 4.6/8 household rating and 6.73 million viewers, but was a little ways back in fourth place among adults 18-49 with a 1.5/5 rating.

• A repeat of NCIS and a new episode of 48 Hours Mystery were the strong parts of this evening’s line-up for CBS, with The Unit the weak one of the three.
• 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of NCIS (5.8/10 HH rating, 8.44M viewers, 1.7/6 A18-49 rating).
• 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of The Unit (3.7/6 HH rating, 5.48M viewers, 1.1/3 A18-49 rating).
• 10:00 p.m.: 48 Hours Mystery (4.3/7 HH rating, 6.28M viewers, 1.8/6 A18-49 rating) showed solid growth from its lead-in, most impressively among adults 18-49 where it grew by 64%. The show was fairly even from the week prior, with slight dips across the board.

    • Households – 4.9/8 to 4.3/7
    • Viewers – 6.86M to 6.28M
    • Adults 18-49 – 1.9/6 to 1.8/6

ABC finished in third place for the evening with a 3.3/6 household rating and 4.69 million viewers but managed a stronger second place finish among adults 18-49 with a 1.8/5 rating.

  • 1.3/4 A18-49 rating [#2]

• 8:00 & 8:30 p.m.: Back-to-back repeats of According to Jim (2.7/5 HH rating, 3.85M viewers, 1.4/5 A18-49 rating) improved upon last week’s numbers which included an original episode of Fast Cars and Superstars (numbers seen below) and a repeat of George Lopez.
  • Last week’s numbers (Fast Cars and Superstars – 8:00 p.m.):
    • Households – 2.2/4
    • Viewers – 3.03M
    • Adults 18-49 – 1.0/3
• 9:00 p.m.: The series premiere of Shaq’s Big Challenge (3.0/5 HH rating, 4.42M viewers, 1.8/5 A18-49 rating) wasn’t able to get much of an audience watching, with weak performances among households and viewers. The rating among adults 18-49, however, was a bit bitter in relation to the overall audience.
• 10:00 p.m.: Primetime: Family Secrets (4.1/7 HH rating, 5.80M viewers, 2.1/6 A18-49 rating) was the networks most watched and highest rated programming, increasing nicely from its lead-in and improving significantly from last weeks Boston Legal repeat.

Fox followed in fourth place for the evening with a 2.9/5 household rating and 4.41 million total viewers but was third among adults 18-49 with a 1.7/5 rating.

  • 1.7/6 A18-49 rating [#4]

• 8:00 p.m.: On the Lot (1.5/3 HH rating, 2.29M viewers, 1.1/3 A18-49) continues to perform incredibly poorly. On the bright side, it didn’t drop among adults 18-49!
  • Week-to-week numbers:
    • Households – 1.6/3 to 1.5/3
    • Viewers – 2.48M to 2.29M
    • Adults 18-49 – 1.1/4 to 1.1/3
• 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of House (4.3/7 HH rating, 6.53M viewers, 2.3/7 A18-49) again posted the networks highest numbers. Here’s a question. Since FOX seems unfazed by the ratings for On the Lot and obviously will allow the to air all its remaining episodes, why not have House lead into it? It would obviously add a couple more viewers and demo points no?

The CW finished in fifth place for the evening with a 1.0/2 household rating, 1.30 million viewers and a 0.5/2 rating among adults 18-49.

• Repeats of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, as usual, barely registered in the ratings.
• 8:00 p.m.: A repeat of Gilmore Girls (1.1/2 HH rating, 1.39M viewers, 0.6/2 A18-49 rating).
• 9:00 p.m.: A repeat of Veronica Mars (0.9/2 HH rating, 1.21M viewers, 0.5/2 A18-49 rating).
